Several of the Saratoga Stars skaters attended the February RISE movie viewing event.
RISE is a film that documents the tragic but inspiring story of the 1961 U.S. World Skating Team
members and their lasting impression on skaters, coaches, family and friends.

The
Saratoga Stars Intermediate Synchronized Skating Team, representing the Saratoga Springs Figure Skating Club,
competed in February at the 2011 U.S.
Figure Skating Eastern Synchronized Sectionals, in Lake Placid, NY.
The team earned a season's best IJS score and finished in the top six of
seventeen teams in their first year competing
in the highly competitive Intermediate qualifying level. Congratulations Stars!

Saratoga Starlettes and Super Stars Make Competitive Debut!

The Saratoga Starlettes Beginner Team and Super Stars Adult Team traveled to Boston, MA in January
to skate in their first competition of the year. Both teams represented the Saratoga Springs Figure Skating
Club at this synchronized skating event - the Boston Synchronized Skating Classic. The Starlettes earned
a first place gold medal and the Super Stars brought home a silver medal! Congratulations skaters!
Another Reason for Saratoga Synchro to Believe!

The Saratoga Synchronized Program participated in Macy's 2010 Believe Campaign. For each letter
the Starlettes, Rising Stars, and Stars skaters wrote to Santa, Macy's made a monetary donation to the
Make-A-Wish Foundation. Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Saratoga Synchro and Learn-to-Skate Team Up for Toys for Tots!

The Saratoga Springs Figure Skating Club's Synchronized Skating and Learn-to-Skate programs teamed upwith the MARINE TOYS FOR TOTS FOUNDATION in a cooperative effort to collect new, unwrapped toys this
holiday season. Many thanks to those who were able to donate time and toys to this worthy cause and make
Christmas special for many children.
Members of our Saratoga Synchronized Skating Program also assisted local Marines with the "behind the scenes"
effort that goes into sorting and distributing the toys. The Saratoga Springs Figure Skating Club and The Saratoga Synchronized Skating Program are committed to making a positive impact in our community!

teams performed for an enthusiastic audience at the Weibel Ave. Skating Rink. The Saratoga Super Stars, Saratoga Starlettes, Saratoga Rising Stars, and Saratoga Stars will represent Saratoga Springs Figure Skating Club at
U.S. Figure Skating competitions in Massachusetts and New York during January and February.

SARATOGA STARS BEGIN COMPETITIVE SEASON!

The Saratoga Stars Intermediate Synchronized Skating Team traveled to Plymouth, MA on November 5th to participate in US Figure Skating's IJS Monitoring Session. Coach Missy
received valuable information and positive feedback about the team and its Sister-Act
Gospel themed program. The team competed the next day at the 2010 Thanksgiving Classic,
earning very good scores for its debut performance and an enthusiastic response from the
spectators.The team returns to home ice this week to train for their next performance at the
2010 Cape Cod Classic Competition in December. Go Stars!!!

Saratoga Synchro Teams Train for Competitive Season
The Saratoga Starlettes, Rising Stars, Stars, and Super Stars have started training for the 2010-11
synchronized competitive season. The Intermediate Team is shown above working along with
Coach Missy. The Stars will compete at the November 2010 Thanksgiving Classic in Plymouth, MA.

SYNCHRO ANNOUNCES 2010-11 TEAMS
Beginner - The Saratoga StarlettesA team of 8 -16 skaters
The Beginner Team is part of the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills program.
The Beginner competition team is for skaters who are interested in a
first competition or “team” experience.
Pre-Juvenile - The Saratoga Rising Stars
A team of 8-16 skaters. The majority of the team must be under 12.
Intermediate - The Saratoga Stars
A team of 12-20 skaters. Skaters must be under 18
and have passed the pre-juvenile moves in the field test.
Open Adult - The Saratoga Super Stars
A team of 8-12 skaters. The majority of the team must be 19 years or older.
We still have a few limited openings - inquiries welcome.

Over fifty skaters from New York, Massachusetts and Vermont gathered for an amazing Synchro event
that featured special guests - US World Team Haydenettes Coach Saga Krantz, Artistry in Motion Director
Paula Wagener, and US Figure Skating Accountant Elliot Schwartz. The skaters were treated to a day
of specialized skills and instruction from experts in this fantastic sport!!
